Cassette Style Pinch Roll Stands
Pinch rolls are used to assist in line thread-up
or scrap removal when used in concert with a crop shear. They
are also used to maintain material storage in the looping pit
for removal by the feeder.
Automatic Feed Company pinch roll assemblies
are unique in that they are standardized and fully interchangeable
to ensure continued line uptime. The pinch roll assembly is
a cassette style which allows for rapid replacement reducing
maintenance down time. Cassettes may be changed on an “as
needed” basis or at a pre-selected maintenance interval.
The pinch roll assembly consists of two identically dimensioned,
standard textured, chromed rolls that are driven through a common,
dual output gearbox and motor assembly. The rolls open and close
with pneumatic actuated cylinders with adjustable regulators;
one for each end of the roll. Provisions for pneumatically operated
roll wipers used for periodic, automatic cleaning the rolls
is offered.
