Super Rolls

Automatic Feed Company’s SuperRolls™ start with domestically produced materials in various sizes and in only the highest grades. All material is produced to our exacting specifications.

Precision rough turning reduces stresses that are usually corrected after heat-treating by straightening. At Automatic Feed Company, we believe that is best to control the machining process and reduce roll stress before heat-treating.

Our rolls are produced with the latest in roll finishing technology, including infrared measurement of surface temperatures to control maximum surface hardness and case depth; cryogenic treatment of our rolls completed the hardening transformation of retained austenite to martensite; and our grinding and super-finishing to a minimum of 300 RMS.

And we keep solid records for you. Mill certifications begin the tracking process that follows the roll through its lifetime. At completion, each roll receives a serial number, is measured and documented following turning. Each time a roll is returned to Automatic Feed Company we update our records to ensure that we have a complete and detailed record of each roll.

SuperRolls™ can run up to three times more steel than other rolls.
