Operator Training

At Automatic Feed, customer service is a priority. We want to ensure that your equipment runs at its potential and that is highly dependent upon your on-floor personnel. To assist you in this area, we offer Operator, Mechanical Maintenance and Electrical Maintenance training courses that teach the practical skills required on the plant floor.

This is a 32-hour course designed for equipment operators, mechanical maintenance and electrical maintenance personnel. It provides a general overview of the press line, operator safety, explanation of operator screens, manual an automatic machine operations and adjustments required by the operator through routine operator messages.

The objectives of the course are to equip people with the following abilities:

  • Locate and identify individual machines and their operations
  • Describe safe operations in both manual and auto mode
  • Access and use operator screens
  • Perform manual and auto operations of individual machines
  • Explain general principals required for flattening material
  • Interpret general operator messages
  • Understand and use AIM software system

Mechanical Maintenance Training

This is a 24-hour course geared for mechanical maintenance personnel. It covers general maintenance safety. Objectives of this course are to provide the following abilities:

  • Recognize general maintenance safety requirements
  • Perform mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic adjustments
  • Identify hydraulic and pneumatic components and their locations
  • Complete Automatic Feed’s suggested
  • Preventative Maintenance Schedule
  • Identify all system parts and understand the part list drawings for assembly and dis-assembly of the machines

Electrical Maintenance Training

This 24-hour course is intended for electrical maintenance personnel. Class prerequisites include training in Unico and Allen Bradley controls. It covers general maintenance safety and uses communication flowcharts, prints and ladder logic diagrams. Upon completion of the course, attendees will be able to:

  • Locate and identify the electrical components of a line
  • Describe requirements for safe maintenance
  • Perform necessary calibrations and adjustments
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical failures
  • Diagnose communication problems and interpret diagnostic indicators
  • Interpret fault messages
  • Restart the system from mid-cycle stops
  • Identify all power distribution requirements and equipment interlocks
  • Understand equipment hard wire prints and ladder logic
  • Troubleshoot e-connects
  • Troubleshoot ARMA Starts
  • Learn how to address the DeviceNet Blocks
